Student loans, bursaries and scholarships

Every post secondary educational institution has a financial aid office somewhere on campus. On some campuses it may be referred to as student awards.

You can search the websites for information, but you can also go in and talk to someone in person. The staff there should be able to tell you everything that you qualify for. Scholarships are based on academic merit, while a bursary is a grant given to those in financial need. Loans are also based on need and usually have low interest rates and deferred payment options.

If you are in need of financial assistance you should visit the office as soon as possible after settling in, as some of the deadlines for applying are early in the school year, sometimes within the first few weeks.
