If you are traveling this summer or in the near future, you might want to put a "power of attorney" in place. Both for your financial affairs and for your health.
If the unthinkable happens and you have a terrible accident and you are over the age of 18, you are considered an adult and without a power of attorney in place, a companion could be making health based decisions on your behalf. If you have a good relationship with your parents, it would be a good idea for them to be making those decisions for you.
Also I have been able to go into my kids financial institutions and make transactions on their behalf when they were on the other side of the world and finding it difficult to manage their affairs from afar.
Check with your local government for free online forms that can be filled out and witnessed.
